This summer, the College of Arts and Sciences Support of Education Through Technology (ASSETT) Innovation Incubator and CU Boulder’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative hired a team of three undergraduate student interns — meet us below — to design and launch a campus-wide student challenge to tackle the question: How might we creatively use our resources to support meaningful connections within our campus community while physically distancing?
Over a rapid, 10-week period, we’re designing and launching the Sko Together Challenge that invites CU Boulder undergraduate students to imagine ways that they can have a connected campus community experience no matter how we are living, learning, and working through the pandemic. This virtual challenge runs from late July to early August and students submitting top ideas will be awarded with funding and mentorship to develop their campus connection concepts throughout fall 2020.
Meet the Team
Hi, my name is Elise Rosado and I am a Theatre BFA student studying Costume Design and Lighting Design with a minor in Digital Art. Growing up in a Puerto Rican home as well as a military family has given me the ability to use art as a collaborative tool to gain a greater understanding of the world around me. As a Hispanic woman and artist, I’d love to create resources for students that are both inclusive and engaging in these uncertain times.
Hi! My name is Alexis Harris and I am a rising junior majoring in English with a teaching licensure in Secondary Education and a minor in Technology, Arts, and Media. My great passion in life has always been learning as much as I can, and it’s one of the reasons I’ve chosen to spend my career in a classroom. My favorite quote comes from Bill Nye, who once said, “Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don’t”, and they have become words I try to live by.
Hi! My name is Lily Zafran and I am a rising senior studying Sociology with a minor in Business and a certificate in Social Innovation. Passionate about innovative social impact, I am excited to put my problem-solving skills to work as we launch the campus connection project! In my spare time I enjoy reading, spending time with friends hiking and at the beach, and watching female comedians’ stand-up.
